I wore Levis for over 20 years and never in a million thought I would switch, until now. I’ve had some medical problems that has limited my physical activity and in turn I gained a few pounds, now my 33×34 Levis no longer fit. I was looking to buy 2-3 pairs of new jeans in 36×34 and went straight to my old faithful Levi 550’s. I was shocked to see that they were $58 at Kohls and $37 here on Amazon. Whew I wasnt ready to pay $111 for 3 pairs of jeans. I started to look around and saw the Carhartt jeans. I know that they make rugged shirts and jackets but I never owned a pair of their jeans. For $30 with free return shipping if I didn’t like them I could live with that. So I ordered a pair to try them out. The next day they were delivered and I tried them on and initially liked the fit, that was until I looked down. They seem to be much longer than my Levis both are suppose to be 34 length, I laid them on the bed and then laid a pair of Levis on top and sure enough the Carhartt jeans were 3” longer than the Levis.(same 34” length) I got back on Amazon and started the exchange process which was easy enough. They ship at the same speed as the original shipping( 1 day for mine) I exchanged the 36×34 for a pair of 36×32 and ordered 2 more pair at the same time in a different color. That worked out great because they all shipped at the same time and because I had paid the extra $4 for 1 day shipping on the first pair which I was returning, all 3 pair shipped at the same time and same speed and I didn’t have to pay the extra. The 36×32 fit perfectly and I love them way more than any pair of Levis. The seat is no where near as baggy and it’s a whole lot easier to go pee now. With the Levis it seemed like I was always scrapping my knuckles on the zipper when I was getting my junk out, with the Carhartt jeans it’s not a problem. The upper part of the jeans are longer so it sits better on the hips but the unexpected benefit was the zipper opening is much larger. These jeans fit way better, it’s like someone at Levi said these are good jeans but I can do much better and made the Carhartt jeans. They feel like someone cares about how they fit,not only that they will last long.( I don’t know how long they will last but the physical weight of both Levis and the Carhartt are about the same) I’m not sure how else to describe it? Maybe compare the fit to a pair of good khakis ?? I really don’t know how to describe the fit, all I know is if these Carhartt jeans last half as long as a pair of Levis, I will never buy another pair of Levis. This is coming from a die hard lover of Levis that owns 6 pairs. For fellow car guy I’ll put it this way. The whole time I thought I was driving a BMW, but really I was really tricked into driving a Yugo, played as a sucker and paying for a BMW the whole time. Now I’m driving a M3 and it feels like it too ! For the off road crowd imagine going from a RAV 4 to a Jeep Rubicon with a 6” full suspension lift rollin on 35’s. nothing too extreme because it doubles as a daily driver but still bad ass when you gotta get down and dirty.
    Update 9-519
every pair that I purchased are still in very good condition, with little to no fade in the area above the knee. That’s where my darker color Levi’s would always fade. Worth every penny and will be buying a few more pair since I lost the weight I can go back to the size I wore most of my life.

My husband is 6 feet 6 inches tall and slim. He only likes tapered legs in his jeans and other pants as straight lets look like he is floating in them. These jeans fit exactly as described. I have bought this exact pair a few times and they wear very well. I am happy to answer any questions you may have.

Love these jeans! Comfortable and durable. Fit right with room for movement without pinching or binding. Sizes are accurate.

I had read reviews that said these pants seemed to run large. So I had actually expected them to be loose as I wear a 40 waist in every other brand I’ve owned. These pants as a size 40 seemed more like a size 38 in every other brand I own.

That said the pants do seem like they would be very nice if they fit. I like them enough that I plan to order a larger size and hold on to these for when I lose a bit of weight.

This was my review of these after buying “Love These jeans! fit perfect! Fast shipping and definitely would buy again! Great Seller!”
UPDATE: I have had these jeans less than three months and the same thing that’s happened to previous pairs, the same thing others have said in reviews, and that is that they split out on the inside of the back pocket. The jeans look new and I am not an overweight man!! About a year ago I had two pairs that got holes in them directly above the corner of the back pocket and I contacted Carhartt and told them of the issue. Carhartt had me send the jeans to them with them paying shipping. A couple moths later I received 2 new pair. One of the new pair started to wear and begin having a hole in them THE SAME PLACE THE OTHERS I SENT BACK DID!!! I took a pair of scissors and cut the sharp corner edge off the back pockets with scissors and VOILA problem solved! No more holes. I informed Carhartt 9 months ago how I solved the issue, that myself and others were having, but still they haven’t fixed the issue. Now this newest pair I bought split next to the pocket 5 inches, when I bent over, and they are less than 3 months old!! There are only a couple brands of jeans that fit me just right and Carhartt brand is one of them. The other brand that fits great are Lucky jeans, but who can afford a genuine pair of Lucky’s. Sure you can buy the “nock offs”, but the quality Lucky’s are $100 a pair!!! Not sure what to try now?

They’re pricey, but worth it. The big thing here is that they are very comfortable. The material is durable, but lite and it breathes well. They look so nice you can wear them with a suit coat and people might think they’re slacks… kind of. Or I wouldn’t have any problem using these for work jeans either. There’s lots of bending room in the thighs. But listen, ORDER BIG at the waist. I’ve had experience with this brand and knew to do that so the fit I got is just right at the waist. The bigger the size you need, the more you need to order up. I’m a man of girth, so I ordered 4 in. up from my normal size at the waist. Regular sized guys would be wise to look at the next size up from normal. However the inseam is a different story. These are sized long. I have short legs and a long torso, and I ordered my usual inseam. It is quite a bit too long. I think I could have done with a full 2 inches shorter. But I cuff ’em up, and they look cool that way. Just letting you know.

Overall, I like these jeans quite a bit and will definitely consider ordering another pair some time. And it is so nice to see this brand quality in a big man’s size. Good jeans.

Seller refuses to refund for Carhart defects. They say it is Carhart’s fault and they are just a small company that cannot afford to refund me.

They said I was outside of the return window. No, I had until Oct 4th to request a return and I messaged them with my request on Oct 4. Read with your eyes before getting defensive and accusing me.

The crotch is not sewn right!! I saw these reviews and thought ok these people are ripping their pants due to the pants being too small. No! This is a manufacturing defect and Dunagrees is trying to sell them at a discount to trick you into buying them!! No refund will be given to you!! It’s a con.

The rips are not from straining the jeans like I thought people were doing—just like with the CS Department at dungarees everything is someone else’s , right? LOL—NO! The jeans are baggy and you can clearly see the sew-line veers off track, causing a literal HOLE in the crotch. It is sewn wrong.

Never again for Carhart and never again for Dungarees—they said it was Carhart’s fault and my fault and the seller is just a small company. So hard to say this pathetic truth as I used to love both brands. I make 35k a year. How “small” is your company that you can’t give me my $37 back? Pathetic.

So far so good, fits as advertised and they seem pretty rugged. I’m a 28″ in-seam so finding jeans that fit is a little tougher. They are a bit much for warmer weather, but that’s my fault for buying tough jeans in the summer. We’ll see how long they last.

  13. Nick Barnes

There are not enough belt loops in the back, so doubt that they will last long.

  14. Sarah Jensen

carhartt doesn’t make the slim cut jeans in this style anymore which is what my husband used to get these are looser but not too much so.
