Use these to hold my jeans up while working 12 hour shifts easy to unclipp to use restroom and have a great grip on them
Steven C –
Really very nice set of suspenders; best I have ever had. Nice and wide. Really durable hardware. Only problem is that the clasps are so heavy duty that they project sharpish edges and will scratch Mommas furniture if you wear them in the house. They will tear a hole in your Easy Boy (ask me how I know). Wear in the shop or on the job–no problem.

I have a senior male body. The location of my waistline is a hypothetical matter. When I wear belts, my pants ride down. With suspenders, my pants are held in position by straps over my shoulders. The straps are comfortable. My shoulders don’t move around, and neither do my pants.
This is my second pair of Carhartt suspenders. The first pair is red. I’ve been wearing the red suspenders for 4-5 years, with no sign of wear and tear. The red suspenders get a lot of positive comment. I bought a second, navy pair for days when I want less attention.
I’ve had other suspenders. The clips, that attach to one’s pants, can wear out, lose their grip. That has not been the case with the Carhartt suspenders. Good product.

Some people wear suspenders proudly, while others won’t even consider them. I was in the latter group, but once I tried suspenders (for comfort while recuperating from surgery), I quickly became a convert. I had thought that constantly tugging on your jeans was just one of life’s fundamental principles. It’s not. And if you don’t like the look, they work fine under your shirt.
Anyway, I bought 3 different kinds: Dickies, HoldUp Suspender Company, and Carhartt heavy duty.
DICKIES: The Dickies are my favorite. PROs: they are inexpensive and the material is lighter, stretchier, and more comfortable. I am less aware of wearing them. They are my go-to for everyday, informal use. CONs: None.
The HoldUps. These are the TSA compliant version. (Buy two, so you have a spare in case one breaks while traveling.) PROs: They make air-travel much less of a hassle. These are also a little nicer and would be more appropriate for a suit, although they would certainly work with jeans. They have a wide range of materials, colors, and hardware. CONs: The material is thicker and more rubberized, so you are more aware of wearing them and they are a little hotter in summer. Also the length adjustments are plastic and seem prone to slip, but not a big deal, and a worthwhile tradeoff to avoid TSA hassles. Expensive vs. the Dickies.
The Carhartt’s. These are for heavy-duty work environments. PROs: Oversize, high-quality hardware means they will almost always stay attached and that they will hold up heavy loads–think heavy waterproof pants for for fire-fighters, etc. (Still, they work perfectly fine with jeans.) CONs: They are heavy, 2″ wide, and you are always conscious of wearing them. Expensive vs. the Dickies.
(Same review posted for Dickies, HoldUp, and Carhartt.)

These would have gotten a better review if QU would have done their job. Perfect amount of elasticity. Colors match the description and pic in the ad. The clasps are heavy duty and work well. The reflective stripe printing had several blotches and run over into outer striping in several places.

While one of the more costly choices for suspenders thes Carhartt ones are great. I have worn them daily and find the clasps very secure even holding when rubbed against things. The elastic is very strong and has proper elasticity. The connecting leather is good quality. Lots of adjustment and I am a 3xl 300+lb guy.
Just buy these and thank yourself later.
Abby –
Good quality and very comfortable.

My husband is the most picky person I know but even he lives these suspenders!

I am a large man. Age 33. My brother suggested I try to wear suspenders since the belts tend to make sores under my belly.
This model of suspender specifically, has changed my life and I mean it. I have more mobility, confidence, and no more slipping pants. It holds my heavy jeans in place on my hips exactly as the jeans are designed, resulting in better looking bottom half of my body. I wear these under every shirt I own including dress shirts. No one can notice them, and even I forget I’m wearing them. Buy some different colors, the beige suspenders for light colored shirts. Dark for black shirts. I notice the clips do tend to wear out over 6 months of daily usage, but I have the local lady replace them or repair them. Once one set breaks, you can buy a new pair and use the good clips from the broken set for spare parts.
Overall, there is no other brand that is sturdy enough, yet remains stylish and not a hinderance. Reclaim your life and mobility. Good for all ages and sizes, adjustments go far.

I was surprised to find that the clasps are rather strong. I wanted this feature in a set of suspenders. My late grandfather wore suspenders all the time, even until hospice care. He was on to something. My primary need for these is to take some of the load off of my belt when carrying heavier items on my belt longer distances than I usually do. My back can get strained and I know that my shoulders can take a little of the weight. I will also wear them around the house when I am not wearing my work jeans or belt in order to hold up my pants. You know… the original purpose for suspenders. They do look sharp.
These work. The leather work was excellent and the material new. Only minor nitpick I have is a minor strand of stretch material poked out- but that’s like complaining about scrapes and knicks on your knife blades after using them. I’ll snip it off and live with it. I have an odd jean size- 50 x 28. These one size fits all suspenders fit me just fine.
blu-ray Bill –
These are great suspenders! They are sturdyand the clips are strong. I wear mine mostly with screen printed t-shirts tucked into my jeans.
I love them for their sturdiness and ability to hold up my heavy jeans.
Some flaws: for whatever reason they can easily catch on an open backed chair and become unclipped.
The elastic in the edges wears out and the edges get wrinkly and then the suspenders look old and worn.
They can get stained easily and then you have to find some mild soap and wash them in the sink.
THEY NEED MORE COLORS!!!! Especially RED! I have one pair of reds and they are looking worn and I need some more.
I bought some red Dickies suspenders but they seem thinner and lighter and I felt like they might break away from my heavy pants at any time.
So I need some more red Carhartts.
Also if you wear the kind of t-shirt that has one small image on the front left breat pocket area and the main image on the back then suspenders will completely cover the images.

Bought these as a gift for my husband, he wears them all the time. Very nice and sturdy too!
Lautaro Moraes –
Son muy resistentes. Estoy feliz por la comodidad. Solo me gustaría que hubiera más colores.
Kindle Customer –
Strong and comfortable. Little wider, but very comfortable. Does not slip!!
Dannie Marie –
Bought these for my husband he wore them for two weeks and one of the back clips fell apart. I was able to fix it and put it back together then a couple days later the other clip in the back came apart. My husband still wears them with one clip in the back but you would think with them being carhartts they would be better quality.
Amazon Customer –
These are so good. Have lasted years. Clasps just work and have never failed me unlike other brands. Recommend!
Dale –
Love these! Carhart suspenders are top quality all the way around. Easy to adjust, the clips grab on strongly yet easy to release, and I got the wider straps. These keep my pants up and no more having to hike them up every 2 minutes of walking and no need for that over-tightened belt to try to keep them up. I wear them under my shirt and no one can tell. I am 6’4”, 240lbs. These seem like they will last a long time, sorry I waited so long to get a pair.
Justin Bielak –
I learned a lot about the difference between a belt and suspenders when I wore these to the wedding I went to. first? they fit perfect. not at first, but user error. once adjusted they were everything I’ve always wanted. I’m being over the top, but seriously, I love suspenders and kinda wish it’d be more normal to wear more often. maybe it’s because I fidget a lot, this gives me something for my hands to grab and be out of the way.
Also, the thing I learned? belts cinch inwards. that’s it. suspenders, suspend. but that’s not it. if not properly adjusted, suspenders also pull! so if you have an amazing pair of flexible suspenders like these, with a size to cover every body type, they probably won’t be shipped adjusted to your specific build. so if you are built like a barrel, like me, and you get these suspenders unadjusted for your size, they’ll be too large, and won’t hold up pants, or in my case, theyll fight gravity with your pants with no mercy, and your Man bits will take all the punishment. honestly I see it happening for female bits as well. carefull out there. Camels and Mooses getting constricted

Love these, amazing quality and they’re comfortable too.
PHEELS RIGHT…. –
Seems to be holding up so far! Had it for a few months now and it’s been doing its job! Easy to use and the fit is great! I recommend this one for sure.
Amazon Customer –
Nice wide suspenders with very strong clips that haven’t come loose so far with every day use, Carhartt products are top notch,I would highly recommend these
spork –
The quality you would expect from Carhartt. Heavy duty, and will be great for holding up belts full of tools or gear for the outdoors. They have plenty of room and are long enough for a taller person, and though rigid enough to support heavy belts, still offers enough flexibility to stay on properly when you bend over. The grips are heavy duty also, maybe a little too much for casual pants like slacks or thin khakis. The tan is a bit light, but a few days of rough woods use will have it looking pretty in nothing flat. I knocked off a star because I would have preferred dark buckles and snaps instead of these shiny ones, but I expect I will wear off the shiny stuff anyway, since these things are good for the woods. I’m happy with this purchase and would buy again.

We ordered two sets of these because my husband is a project manager on a construction site and needs to wear high visibility at all times, these are perfect. They do double duty, not only do they hold his pants up, but everyone can see him. They’re durable, good quality and easily go into your washing machine.
Jose Cuervo Joe –
I bought these to use with my chainsaw trousers, very well built, each part of the product is good quality and I expect it to last a fairly long time.
Only gripe is that the adjustment buckles rub on my collar bone a bit, otherwise they are top notch.
Matt Allan –
Quality, very well made
Chelsea Willis –
My husband loves these suspenders. Purchased as a gift
Dan S. –
Very sturdy. I use them to hold up some motorcycle riding trousers which, because of the weight of the material and armor, are much heavier than normal clothing. Great value, great fit as well.

These are great at keeping Santas pants on! Dressing up as Santa Clause can present one with some unforeseen struggles, one of those is knowing that your pants are where they should be. You’re wearing gloves, you have a massive belly, and you’re wearing a longer Santa suit jacket or coat – how can you be sure the pants are still there! A reoccurring nightmare is the sudden appearance of mortified looks on parents faces, or falling down in slow motion as Santa trips over his pants that have just decided to take their act solo. We’ve used a pair of these over a few seasons and they’ve been awesome – no tripping or mortified looks anywhere.
Anon –
Seem well made on initial inspection, however clips hardly have any strength and come loose easily and often. Would not recommend.

Excellent great quality

So I bought these, and what do you know? It broke on the first day. Broke as I got out of the Rearloader (Garbage truck where you load garbage in the back, usually with two guys on the back of the truck) Not even 6 hours of use. I made sure I used them correctly, but they broke.
I bend over to grab garbage, squat to get something, and much more throughout the day. So instead of a belt, that doesn’t fully keep the pants up where they should be, I decided to try out suspenders. And because I work on the roads/alleys, I saw the Reflective ones and were happy with that. I could use them at my work. So I spent my money and waited for them to arrive. Got them and was excited to try them out. Get about few hours into my day, we return back to base (Transfer station) and I get out of the truck, boom. Broke. At least the other three held for the rest of the day, but I was on edge hoping for them to hold until I got home.
Quality:
Reflective – 7.5/10 (Not the strongest or best reflective, but it does reflect)
Straps itself – 8/10 (Stretchy, not itchy, comfy)
Clips – 0/10 (WOULD NOT RECOMMEND)
Adjusters – 7/10 (Could be better honestly, but not bad)
How could such a renowned company make something really bad, specifically for working purposes? Maybe if I never bent over it wouldn’t break. Maybe these are for dress and show, not work and work.
Extremely disappointed by these. I hope Carhartt actually rethinks their quality check and their way of clipping onto the pants, because this was a real let down.
Darren myers –
Best quality ones I’ve ever paid for definitely worth the money
rkdawsoniii –
great for working. clips are strong and dont slip off. and adjustments are easy and long lasting.

I work both in a building supply during the week and at a retail store on weekends. My butt is about 1/4 the size of my belly so there’s no pants that stay up with just a belt of I have anything I my pockets and/or on my hips so suspenders are a must so I don’t have to keep 1 hand on my pants most of the day.
For my full time job I already wear industrial type suspenders by Carhart and others but I have “dressy” types that I kept trying out for their lower profile by being thinner width but at the expense of the clasps don’t always stay clipped at times of heavy lifting or squeezing into right spaces and they rub against boxes, walls, etc so I gave these a try.
Being black they’re not blingy even though 2″ wide and the clasps stay clipped, no matter what I bang against. The chrome clasps and height adjusters aren’t any more showy than dressy type as they’re not huge.
They adjust easily up or down as needed and, I said before, they stay clipped until I unclip them.
The elastic is stiffer than cheap ones so once adjusted they stay pretty much as set. No if you’ve got a bunch of stuff on your hips and in your pocket your pants ride down like many of the “under $10” ones will do. It’ll put more stress on the shoulders, like the less expensive ones do when you’re weighed down but pants will stay where they are. I carry a radio, hand computer, tape measure, battery powered drill, cell phone and box cutter on my hips and keys, and other items in my pockets so I’m often weighed down more than just a couple of pounds.
The stitching is top notch and assembly was spot on. It was a toss up between these and Dickies but already having a pair of these in neon green (with reflective) for work I took a chance that these would be as durable and well constructed .
I sweat heavily and haven’t had the brown from the leather patch bleed onto my work shirts so far either.
I think these are well worth the price I paid for them.
Real Amazon customer –
Pretty good, I’ve only had to bend the cam back on one clip so far.
The clips tend to pop off of you have to squeeze through studs or if you are working in tight spaces.
Retro reflective is still in good shape.
I suppose the length adjustment can work loose a bit while working.
I wear them for work.
Ben –
I’m 6’3 and they fit very well with a bit extra strap, they are stiffer than usual suspenders which is good when your pockets are full. The clasps work well on pants but wouldnt work well on a tool belt not that you would want these on a tool belt.

As an older, heavy-set man I find belts to be very uncomfortable when worn all day cinched tight enough to keep my pants up just under my belly when standing and walking. I actually bought these a while back but just now starting wearing them. A recent job change has me up and walking a lot so I thought I would see if wearing suspenders provided a better all-day comfort than a tight belt. Man, do they ever! The fasteners attach securely to my pants and allow me to comfortably walk around all day without constantly hiking up my pants and having sore hips from a over tightened belt! I can’t lie. I hide the suspenders under a fleece jacket so no one is the wiser but the comfort is a huge relief. My only complaint is when a fastener on the back gets knocked loose when trying to slide into a restaurant booth or a vehicle. It’s not easy for me to reach to re-clamp the fastener but I’ve learned to be more careful and no longer pop them open accidentally. The wide width of the straps provide all-day comfort and really good support. If you’re an old fat guy like me and you are wondering if suspenders are a good option I’d definitely encourage you to give them a try. They are well-made and feel like they will last a long time just like other excellent Carhart products.

I love that the metal buckles are sturdy, the straps are wide and the visibility is terrific.
Emily –
Strong and sturdy!
Valkyrie16 –
I returned the item due to it being too big for the purpose I needed it for. I will say they were well made and sturdy. Just physically too big for me.
Billy k –
These suspenders are wide and hold your pants up, the adjustment tabs were a point of initial speculation but they’ve always held their position. The fastener part has never slipped on me on any fabric
Madame Mina –
We LOVE these galluses! They’re high visibility and super wide, so they’re easy on the shoulders. The clips are heavy duty and are holding up very nicely! My husband doesn’t wear a belt unless we go somewhere dressy, which is never. We also bought a red pair that he wants to reorder. We’re very happy with this product!
