I own several belts and bought extra buckles. Since you can switch out buckles very quickly, you can wear the belt with suit when you meet the client, switch the it out and you are ready for the night. The ratcheting system has a perfect fit no matter what life throws at you. A standard belt has holes 1″ apart so sometimes have to decide whether to risk losing your pants or cutting off your blood supply. These belts allow small adjustments. Need to tighten just a bit because you threw tools in your carpenter pants, it still fits. Lose 10 lbs and it still fits. Eat too much at the BBQ and it still fits. In addition, the ratcheting system keeps the belt looking good. Since all the stress is on on the back where it can’t be seen, there’s no stretching at belt holes or scratch marks and tears from the buckle.
My personal favorite feature is I’ve lost a lot of weight while using these belts and I can easily trim the belt and it still looks good. . There are 1″ increments on the back the belt as recommended cutting points. I don’t weigh myself anymore – I try to get the belt 1″ too long so I can trim it. My doctors know how many pounds I’ve lost but I know I’ve taken 9″ off my favorite belt.
The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is it sometimes takes a moment to get the ratchet to lock if you’re too hurried. The belt insists on a set angle to lock. I had a buckle catch on a piece of machinery. Good news – didn’t get caught and the belt popped open. Bad news – I was nervous so I looked like a goober trying to reattach.

Good quality materials, and amazingly effective ratchet mechanism. My first one lasted about 2 years of constant use and the belt itself gradually wore out enough to warrant replacing it. The belt can be cut to length and easily reconnected to the buckle. The release mechanism is slightly tricky at first, but I got used to it after a few days. (The first time I put it on, I couldn’t get it to release — trapped in a belt! — until I found the simple technique.) The best thing about these ratchet buckles is that they are much more finely adjustable than a regular belt with holes every inch or so. The ratchet has latch points about every half inch, so you can let it in or out even just to accommodate thicker clothing. And it can be adjusted very discreetly without anyone noticing that you’re fiddling with your belt — just slip it in or out a bit, even while driving. Another benefit is that there are no strained holes in the belt itself, because there’s no prong from the buckle doing all the work. An excellent product; highly recommended.

Got this for hubby, but he hasn’t used it yet only tried it on. First impressions are that it is good quality, and is as described. Got it because hubby was sick and tired of having a tight or loose belt as there is an inch between the holes on a standard belt, but with this he can get a perfect fit every time! I ordered a bunch of stuff for a family reunion. It all showed up around the same time. I recognized everything I ordered except this unique exotic box. As I carefully opened it, I was impressed at every step to get down to the real deal. When I lifted the final lid, and saw the belt, coiled tightly, and the buckle, separately presented, I knew this was no ordinary belt.
This belt is by far the best belt I’ve ever owned. I am large (okay, I’m fat), and being able to adjust the length right down to the inch, over a range of more than a foot, makes choosing the waist size easy.
I can’t attest to it’s durability until I’ve worn it for a few years, but I predict is will outdo my expectations. It is a quality product.
And the look? Classy. Simple buckle front that says “I don’t really need an emblem or symbol to tell you I’m here”. And the clasp mechanism is solid and sure, but easy to unlatch when you really need to go!
The comparable Amazon belt offers were attractive too, and only slightly more expensive. But the Marino belt is a much better offer. The belt and buckle are made of top notch materials.
I saved the box it came packaged in, expecting to coil the belt up and break the buckle down to return them to their original presentation look after every “party”. No way. I’m wearing this belt every day, and not just on special occasions.

This belt can be cut to that exact length. I basically use this for when I’m golfing and the ratcheting buckle works great for fine tuning it to your waist size. The ratcheting adjusts it in small increments so it is easy to get just the right fit. While not a deal breaker, I wish the width was a bit wider. Most belts come in a inch and quarter width. The belt loops on my shorts are an inch and three quarters. I think, if the belt were a bit wider it would help keep the top of my shorts from rolling over. I also guess that if I lost a little weight, the roll over might not be so bad. Also, releasing the buckle takes a bit of getting use to. But once you master it there is no problem. Really like the belt and have purchased both a brown and a black one.
Update, I’m such an idiot. To release the ratchet on the buckle all you need to do is feed a little of the belt into the buckle as if you were tightening the belt, this releases the pressure on the ratchet. Then simply move the ratchet up and there you go. Sorry it took so long to figure out such a simple thing.

This is an awesome belt, first one I bought was in 2021, it Nov, 2025 now and I had to replace my old one, so I bought another, wish I was able to buy the strap only, instead of the whole belt again, now I have a buckle just sitting here

In past years, I have had to purchase conventional clasp big/tall belts at retail stores for upwards of $60! Lo and behold, skimming Amazon one day I stumbled upon Marino belts with the ratchet fastener–for less than $20. I had seen similar “gadget” clasp belts advertised on TV, so I was curious. Would the mechanism last? Would the the clasp let go at an importune moment or with a casual bump? I have had my original belt for over a year, and I must say that it still looks terrific. The ratchet mechanism has given me absolutely no problems and has never come undone unless I’ve intentionally released it. I also like the fact that I can adjust the tension throughout the day (e.g., after a big meal or if I need to cinch up a pair of now-too-big pants). I was so impressed with the quality and fit I ordered a more formal-looking black belt two months later. Great look, fantastic price, solid craftsmanship. Who’s to argue?

This particular purchase was one of Mio Marino’s ratcheting men’s belts, it was a gift for a friend. The reason I am giving him this gift is because I love the one I bought for myself so much I wanted to share the product with him. I never had any interest in belts till I owned one of these, but I am seriously thinking of collecting more of their belts so I have options.
PROS:
Amazing price: I have paid this much for belts at discount stores like ROSS or Marshall’s
Amazing quality: These are full leather belts, the leather appears to be of good quality, I have had my first one for a year now and it shows no signs of wear and tear, not even on the finish of the buckle. I wear it 5-6 days a week.
Amazing presentation: This would make an amazing gift for any man who wears conventional belts because it will stand out from the rest of his collection. The packaging is beautiful both inside and out, if you did not know better you would think this were a boutique product.
Amazing features: The ratcheting system is so far superior to the standard hole belt, it has essentially infinite adjustment, they make two sizes that will cover men from a 28″ waist all the way up to a 54″ wast an everything in between with exact comfortable fit, not too loose or too tight, because the increments are maybe 0.25″. Also not only do they give you a belt, it comes with this little utility piece that slides over the belt and had clips on it to hang keys or in my case a digital pocket watch, this way its always available and I cannot loose it out of my pocket.
Incredible selection: The colors and styles are so varied, and they are tasteful, I have to say I like the majority of their designs.
Amazing customer service: This company seems very customer oriented and wants to ensure you are satisfied with your purchase.

It’s a man-made imitation leather that will eventually crack, unlike real leather. I’ve had mine for about 18 months and wear it daily, and these are the first cracks I’ve noticed. It should last a few more months before I’ll have to replace it.

I wanted to wait a few weeks before writing a review for this belt. The reason is most belts I have owned have shown signs of wear within a week or two. This belt still looks new and shows no signs of fatigue.
The packaging is very professional. A box with i nice lining inside features the belt quite well. The belt is very long and must be cut to size. I would suggest cutting it a little longer than whatever size you are. You can always cut it shorter if needed. Did you cut it too short? Don’t worry, they will replace the belt if that happens.
The material is a high quality leather and this belt is very well made. The buckle is stylish and elegant. The ratcheting system is accurate and holds quite well. I would have to say this is the best quality belt I have ever owned. I wear it every day. The first time I wore it I could not figure out how to release the ratchet which I did figure it out eventually.
The main purpose of this belt is concealed carry. It is common with my other belts that one hole is too loose and the next is too tight when having an IWB holster installed. The ratchet system will allow me to fine tune the belt to best fit weather I am carrying my pistol or not. This belt has swayed my decision to change to this belt system entirely.
Update: More than a year and a half and I still use this belt almost every day. IT is still holding shape and the outside shows no signs of wear and still looks new. The buckle has some scratches on the finish but that is to be expected with this much use. The only issue I have is the belt leather is cracking on the inside where the adjustment teeth are. Otherwise this is still the best belt I have ever owned?
I am curious as to how much a replacement belt (no buckle) would be.

Arrived quite promptly and in good condition. The belt is well-made, and maintains a curvature that means it doesn’t flop around if it extends past the last belt loop. Pro tip: I’d have given this belt a much lower rating for the first two weeks I had it, because unlike any other ratchet belt I’d owned, it was often difficult to impossible to get the latch to release. Not a good thing when trying to get one’s pants down. Eventually I worked out that to release the ratchet if the belt is well-tightened one must first push the belt as if tightening it a half notch. That releases the ratchet, and the belt then loosens easily. Maybe others figure this out quicker than I did. Once I got that down, it is so much easier to focus on the belt’s high, almost elegant, quality.
