First off, it has a pink cast. I chose it for that quality, but it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. Makes me wonder if there was a koolaid accident, LOL. Anyway, I look better in cooler colors and this pink cast works for my outfits better than a yellow/gold toned straw. It comes in slightly different colors, so pay attention if that matters to you.
It doesn’t fasten very effectively, but it does tend to hold itself slightly closed. Nothing has fallen out yet when it tips over.
Not big enough to carry all one’s goodies to poolside unless you are quite minimal, but it has a great look for that kind of activity, too.
I’m a little disappointed that some of the weaving is coming undone already. After all, it IS made of straw – well, it looks more like water hyacinth which is a nicer look than straw, but there you go. A touch of glue should do the trick for awhile. It won’t sit up by itself, the bottom is not flat. That was the other option I wished it had, but I purchased THIS bag because I didn’t want to pay almost twice the amount for a flat-bottomed straw bag, as handsome as it was, at the store with the red concentric circles for a logo.
I put it into my cart as I thought it over, and received a message that the seller dropped the price a bit – probably to get me to get off the pot and make the purchase. It worked.

Cons: only lasted one week before one of the pom Pom’s broke off. I had it in the sun with me and the color turned pink after a couple of hours.

This is such a beautiful bag – I absolutely love the weaving, the handle is sturdy and feels good in your hand.
However, the photos are deceiving of the bag sitting upright. The bottom of the bag is rounded so it will not sit upright on its own, it will have to laid in its side or hung from a hook. This made it a lot less practical for me – I feel like it’s be great on a beach vacation / resort and cute for photos… but not practical for everyday life. The bag I received did not have a drawstring closure – but the bag kind of snaps back on itself. This is kind of nice, but also makes it hard to get into and find stuff- you need both hands to open it and dig around. If this sat upright and stayed open – it would be a winner. Unfortunately returning this one!
