I bought this shirt for my husband to wear as part of a Halloween costume. He likes it so much, he will wear it regularly. The material is thick like a good flannel should be, and the size was perfect. I haven’t washed it yet, but it seems that with the quality of the shirt, it should hold up well. I figured a Wrangler brand shirt would be a good buy, and we weren’t disappointed!

Good for the price (sales price). The XL Tall fit me pretty well. I’m 6’1” and have wide shoulders. The sleeves are not too long. They are just right, and I wouldn’t want them any shorter. They fit all the way up my arm into my armpit, rather than having a big hole for the sleeve. The seams at the shoulders lay right on the peaks of my shoulders. And the length is just right. Wouldn’t want it shorter. I normally wear a XXL, but this XL Tall was just right for me. So, I’m glad I went down a size, and I’m glad that there was an option for tall. Even though 6’1” isn’t really a height that I consider very tall.

This is a very nice shirt but it runs large. I bought my normal size, which is a Large, but the sleeves were too long and it was too baggy in the body. I returned it and got a Medium and it fits very nicely.
Great things about this shirt: The fabric is thick and it’s very warm. Being 100% polyester it will never need ironing and if it gets wet it will dry quickly. If you sweat it will wick the moisture to help keep you dry. I have an older very similar shirt from Wrangler and I was very happy to find this one, because I know that they are great shirts for working in the winter. I’m only taking off one star because of the size issue. Otherwise I would gladly give it five stars.

Update: Feb 13th, 2023
I decided to order a Medium in the color Caviar. It arrived the following day. The color is true to the product photo. I was surprised to see the inside label was different, there was no small, red Wrangler label on the lower side seam, and the price tag was different-noteably missing the “Relaxed Fit” text that was on the size Large. I slipped it on and it fits PERFECTLY. I took it off and laid it on top of the Large to see where the dimensions actually differ. The length of the seam from the collar to the shoulder is the same. The length of the seam from the armpit to the hem of the shirt is the same. The length of the sleeves is the same. The difference is the sleeves are about 2-3 inches more fitting and the body is about 4-5 inches more fitting.
I ordered a second one in medium to see if this was a fluke. It arrived the following day. The labels and the fit are the same as the Caviar Medium, but the colors are WAY off, and I don’t think it’s a good looking shirt. The product photo shows a dark blue, a light blue and white. This shirt is MIDNIGHT blue (almost black) and white, and that’s it. It’s a very abrupt contrast and I don’t personally like it. Maybe it will grow on me. I’ve re ordered first pattern I ordered in a medium now and for whatever reason, it’s delivery is expected 3 weeks from now. We’ll have to wait to see if it’s the same as these mediums or it’s a “relaxed fit” like the Large I got that took three weeks to arrive.
Initial impressions: Feb. 7th, 2023
For sizing purposes, I’m a fit 220lbs, 6’0″ tall, and wear size large shirts and 34/34 pants. I ordered a size Large on Jan. 22nd. I am a Prime member. The order was fulfilled by Amazon. The order didn’t ship until Feb. 6th and it arrived Feb. 7th. Not sure what the hold up on delivery was since it was obviously shipped from a local fulfillment center to arrive in one day. Fortunately the shirt is worth the wait. As described, the shirt is made of heavy-weight fleece. It’s obviously going to be lighter than the Wrangler Sherpa-lined shirts and jackets, but it is still a heavy-weight shirt. I would say the fit is relaxed. It fits perfect across the shoulders but it has a lot of room in the waist for me. It does have side pockets, but they are sewn into the side hem which is somewhat awkward as most lower pockets (at least on jackets) are oriented toward the front of the body. It’s also fairly long and the sleeves are a good length. It has two sewn on tags that both say Wrangler. It also had the original $16.99 price tag attached. Inflation-what are ya gunna do? Anyway, great shirt. Would recommend.

Wrangler Men’s Authentics Long Sleeve Sherpa Lined Shirt, Java, 3X
This is a fantastic shirt, and it’s very warm.
I wear a size 50 men’s suit, so I need large size clothes.
It’s been a while since I had any Wrangler shirts, so I went to a local store and found a Wrangler 3X flannel shirt, which fit nicely with some extra room, so I purchased it, because the price was outstanding, hence the “Fit as expected” answer, since I expected it to be just as generously relaxed as the Wrangler 3X flannel shirt I tried and liked.
Then I ordered the “Wrangler Men’s Authentics Long Sleeve Sherpa Lined Shirt, Java, 3X”, and it arrived a few days ago.
It is large enough that I can wear a short-sleeve t-shirt and on top of the short-sleeve t-shirt a long-sleeve t-shirt, so it’s a generous “relaxed” fit.
One of the great surprises is that the sleeves are lined with diamond-stitched and padded polyester, which was not mentioned in the product description, so this is a welcomed bonus that increases the warmth of the shirt and makes it easy to put on when you are wearing a long-sleeve cotton t-shirt or some other type of insulated top layer.
How warm is this shirt?
It’s a bit chilly here, so I put on a pair of underpants and this shirt, and stood outside on the back porch for a while when the outside temperature was about 50 degrees Fahrenheit, and I had to unbutton the shirt, since it was getting a bit toasty.
Before I got the central heating and cooling system, I stayed in the house when it was 20 degrees Fahrenheit during the winter, and I had to wear gloves with no fingertips to work on the computer. The computer liked the cold temperature, of course, and once I put on insulated “long johns” and a bunch of layers of warm clothes, it was fine with me, and the electric bill was about $50 a month, which was excellent.
This is a very warm shirt, and I think part of the key to its warmth is the insulated lined sleeves.
In the fall and winter, I usually stay inside most of the time, and this year I have the heating system turned down to 55 degrees Fahrenheit, since I am trying to bankrupt the local electric utility, so having warm clothes is very important, and I am considering turning-off the heating system entirely. I have a nice cast iron airtight woodstove with a catalytic module, and it’s fine for keeping the kitchen warm.
In this scenario, I use the shirt as a soft and comfortable jacket, and I have slept in it a few times, already.
It’s a well-made shirt, and the Sherpa lining is plush and warm. At first, I did not make the connection to wool, since I was thinking it was some type of Himalayan thing, but once the shirt arrived I realized that it’s like wool, but very soft rather than being rough like real wool. It’s not overly thick, but it’s more than sufficiently substantial to keep you warm and toasty.
Summarizing, this is an outstandingly well-made, warm, and comfortable shirt!
