This is the best backpack in the world. I looks great, it carries so much, it is built to last. I was really jealous when my daughter got it, it is for school and she will not share haha!
It really is a great value, I will probably mooch it off her when she is done with it in 2 1/2 years.

I love the look of this backpack. The color and style are as appears. There is one zipper and it’s on the only inside pouch, which is a decent size and good quality. The top flap has 2 quality snaps that appear ad if they will last the lifetime of the bag. There are 3 outside pockets, 2 sides and one in the front. All 3 have the same snap. Side pockets will comfortably hold a 20oz bottle so whatever you want to use it for that’s what I would judge it by. The front pocket I have a small notebook, pen pouch, tissues, gum, ear buds, and some other random nonsense that fits in there good. The straps are padded (not a lot but better than most) and are easy to adjust. I’m 5″1 and my hubs is 6″5 and we both use this backpack. My only complaint and both of us agree, the bottom doesn’t have a sturdy component so it just kind of sags. I’ve gotten used to it but I wouldn’t recommend for hiking or for a long duration as the ergonomics would likely not be comfortable for hours. I do like the material and the fact I can add my own patches, batches, pins, etc. I don’t feel like it’s going to rip or tear anytime soon. I actually really love this backpack! Oh yeah the inside is draw string. Hope you enjoy yours as much as we do.

Easily one of the most well constructed backpacks I have ever owned. Heavy duty stitching, thick canvas, no fragile zipper and very solid snap buckles. I expect this thing to last several years, even under heavy use.

It does not have any rigidity or small pockets for things like pens, so I would suggest using it with a backpack organizer. It is also a large bag and would not work well for a child or someone with a small frame, but great for a medium or large framed adult.

It is simultaneously contemporary enough to carry to the office in a suit, but rugged and practical enough to take camping. It looks classy, but not showy and not something that would bake a big theft target.

I am very happy with this purchase.

9/2022: I have had this backpack since January 2017 and absolutely love it! This is my first and only review; that’s how much I love it. I have used and abused this thing. I primarily used it for school and traveling; I am always surprised at how much I can cram into the backpack. Pretty much anytime I need to carry a lot, this has come with me.

There are little rips and frays on the bottom of the bag but this was only after I carried small, pointy pieces of metal for a sculpture I was making that it tore a hole, but that was 4 or more years ago and the hole has not gotten bigger. The other fraying on the bottom is expected after this many years of overstuffing and abuse. I used to cram a large ArtBin (15 x 10 x 7.75 inches) plus a couple books/binders and jacket inside, not counting the small pockets. Some people have mentioned that they’re surprised at how much can fit inside and I agree, the bag itself doesn’t look like it can fit as much as it does. Only after I REALLY overstuffed this bag (like had to force the clasps closed) over a period of a week did one of the metal clasps come undone. It was totally my fault and I think if you’re clearly stretching to close things, of course they will break; I ended up replacing it because the rest of the bag was worth it. It can also carry quite a bit of weight, though I’m not sure I would recommend doing it regularly. I carried a tool bag full of galvanized small steel pipes (30-40lbs) around along with other items and had no problems; I think my back took more damage than the bag. The arm straps at the top are completely intact after all this time which I think is incredible as this is usually where a backpack shows the first signs of damage for me.

The smaller pockets definitely hold a lot themselves, but I wouldn’t recommend putting really small or loose things on the outside because they might fall out, more so if the large inner pocket of backpack is not very full. When it is more full I haven’t had this problem. The inner zipper pocket has about as much space as the large outer pocket but has a zipper where you can keep small things that might get lost. Side pockets can fit big bottles among other things. I used to wish that there were more zippered compartments so things would be more organized but now I like how versatile it is; I don’t have a lot of random compartments I don’t use because of odd sizes.

Other reviews mention the backpack is flimsy, but it is not in terms of durability. It does not hold its shape, but it can be convenient if you’re shoving it into a trunk when you’re out of room. It can be a little annoying if you have nothing to lean it on so it can sit up right but I’ve always kinda considered that an aesthetic choice. Otherwise, it may be an issue if you’re carrying something fragile inside, I would recommend getting a case for those special items or using a binder for papers. I got a bag for my 16” laptop to keep it protected. I would also say that how you organize items in the bag will help alleviate some of the ‘flimsiness’. Placing the bottom flat on the ground and organizing large books in the back and smaller things in the front will help not only with how it sits but with how the items feel on your back when walking. I’ve had a few times where I didn’t do this and some things can feel a little awkwardly placed but it’s an easy fix.

The adjustable straps can be loose and slowly untighten as you’re walking, especially if the bag is really heavy. However, there is a specific way to wrap the straps so that it stays in place. When I bought the bag I think there was a review that mentioned it but also my mom showed me how. I ultimately didn’t like it so locked in place and have gotten used to adjusting when I put it on, it’s very easy to adjust. Maybe there should be instructions provided on how to tie/lock it so it stays for people that want that.

I don’t think I would recommend this bag for big cities, personally. It is pretty easy to get in and out of the bag, which is great for the user but also for everyone else. However, there are plenty of other backpacks that I would say the same for and have seen even less secure bags in the city so I’m sure it is a matter of preference. I don’t really have to worry about it since I don’t live in an area that has a problem with pickpockets.

I remember before purchasing this I was regularly going through backpacks every year or 2. I purchased a similar style with a different company a year and a half prior to this purchase that had really horrible zippers, was nowhere near as spacious and was falling apart. The only reason I am now considering a new bag is because I spilled one part resin in the front pocket years ago and have not been able to get rid of it; it is always collecting gunk and I hate that it’s never clean. I also washed it with some jeans and now it looks even more permanently dirty. I may use this bag for dirtier jobs, but if I do I will be purchasing another. I am a little disappointed they have added their logo to the top flap, as I’m used to having my own pins all over it and I don’t like parading any brand but that is not a big deal. Maybe I’ll go for coffee color next time so I don’t have to worry about it getting dingy. I think this bag could last many more years and I would recommend it again and again!

UPDATE 9/29/22: First Impressions of new bag:
The bag seems just as well made as the first one. The snap closures seem to be more secure; I can feel a stronger snap when opening and closing and comparing to my old bag it appears to be a little bit bigger so they must be taking reviews into consideration. (Old on left)

  5. Bag with personality

I’ve had the backpack for about a month. This isn’t one of those expensive onebags with ergonomic backs, waterproofing, camera compartments, etc. However, this is a bag that you just love.

I love how light it is and it folds very small when empty. Think more “mesh” bag as opposed to something that has its own structure. It is one big compartment inside so I bought an internal backpack organizer for some structure and compartmentalization. You could easily fit it within a larger backpack or a suitcase and use as a light daypack. It also seems decently sturdy as it’s made out of canvas. The sewing looks good, I carried a crate of beer in it with no problem. Also carry my large 16 inch laptop with no problem. It is pretty comfortable even when loaded. Easy to clean. The side pockets can easily accommodate a Nalgene bottle (30-40 fl oz). I would use that in cities or for light summer hikes. Great for minimalists. Looks like in the pictures. You would most likely need a storage organizer if you want to carry stuff other than clothes.

Had a small problem with one of the detachable straps (my fault entirely). Contacted the seller from their website. They sent me a replacement and a spare with tracked mail. Great customer service.

Knowing these restrictions and use cases: I would buy this again.

I like the quality, the amount of space and bag size. Extra pockets. The color. Vintage style.

Llegaron muy bien empaquetadas y selladas, completamente nuevas de buena calidad, material grueso y resitente, miden más de 60 cm. Estoy completamente satisfecha con el producto y lo recomiendo, no se van a arrepentir.

  8. Sophia A.

I’ve had this a good year and it’s roomy and very well made. You can carry a lot of stuff in it it’s made to last a lifetime.
    Well worth the price!

  9. WK

Es un gran producto y excelente calidad, se ve que durará mucho tiempo.
El color parece un poco más caqui oscuro que como tal un verde militar pero se ve genial aún así. Me encantó.
    Excelente compra

Seems to be well made with lots of room! Great backpack for my daughter.

  11. Luna C.

Durable and light. Fabric is sturdy and flexable. Can carry a lot and doesn’t feel heavy. Comfortable to wear, not combersome.

  12. the bearded coastie

The perfect bag when you don’t want a bunch of interior pockets. The one internal zipper pocket is a good size for lots of small stuff then just one big rea for everything else. Outside pockets are handy too. No other zippers to break. Just the buckles and snaps that are all quality. Great bag overall and highly reccomend.

  13. John Dixon

This thing is BIG. It holds so much more that I had anticipated for my upcoming trek (disrespect to the manufacturer – my fault entirely).
In fact, I plan to give it to my grandson and purchase a smaller version. Very sturdy and looks great.

  14. Robert Brunston

Very good bag. I am very happy with this bag. It’s very well made and plenty of room. 👍👍

  15. Liz Torgerson

Awesome bag. Durable and strong. Very nice and not too large.

  16. Beagle Dad

this bag definitely punches way above its price. It is a great weight fabric that is very relaxed and seems very durable. It is a very relaxed style and easy to carry. The main compartment is cavernous. What really impressed me is that the snaps are all fastened on a loop that makes it super easy to get your finger under it and snap it shut with ease. I highly recommend this backpack. If you want great price and style and durability this is your bag. However, if you want tons of pockets and pouches and/or tech storage like padded areas etc this won’t be the bag for you.

  17. Penny Jones

It’s big with lots of space, has some useful side pockets. Looks really nice too.

  18. Amazon Customer

I really love this backpack, it’s a nice color, I ordered the coffee brown, it’s very well made, sturdy and nicely designed, lots of room for anything I want to carry along. I think it’s very reasonably priced too

This rucksack is perfect. I take it everywhere with me in my daily life and on my long hikes(10+miles some days). The straps are adjustable for the big compartments(and the shoulders). I’m able to keep a water bottle on one side pouch, a large battery pack in my other, sunglasses, bug spray, sanitizer etc in the front pouch. Wallet, keys and other things can safely be stored in the zipper compartment in the main bag storage area for safety(slight risk of losing things in the front pouch, practice sack awareness and this should be a nonissue(for instance when hiking if i hop a large obstacle I give a quick feel to make sure everything made it, always has, but you can never be too careful). There is so much room in the main area of the bag to store weights, or anything else. I keep a few ponchos and books in there and I’m still able to toss in anything else when going about my day. Plenty of room.

When I get in any of my trucks I’m able to just throw it on a spare seat where it collapses on itself and stays in place nicely. I’m also able to cram it down between the seats size it’s not a rigid bag.

Anyways, long review just to say, if you want a rucksack then buy this bag. Very nice quality at an unbeatable price.

I love this bag. It’s almost perfect. I’ve been using it for months now and its great to just stuff all my things in. It’s solid and the fabric is thick. It’s a bit slumpy when you carry it, if that makes any sense. Like it’s floppy. The one thing I’d like is a big inner pocket on the back side. That’d really tie it all together. It has a shortage of smaller pockets for organization. So I give it 4 stars. But it is a really great bag.

LOVE this backpack. Was looking for something large and strong for longer travel yet still able to use for lighter trips without being bulky and can fold up into another back to bring out later on trip.
    This is the Large size.
Please see photos attached: front pocket size and side pocket and hanging next to belt bag so you can see size. Also see whole shoe box inside bottom of bag to help you see if size is right for you.
Great value for money and canvas is strong but soft (not all stiff like some lesser comparisons 🙂
Thank you for making this style and size bag 🙏Thank you

    凄く大容量でしっかりしたレトロなリュックです。以前使用してたリュックより、いっぱい入るので良いです。

I love this bag. I’ve had the smaller messenger bag for several years and loved it, but needed a bigger bag for work now. I decided to get this one and try it out and I love it. It’s nice and big, but not super bulky and has plenty of pockets. Yet the bag is fairly light weight and easy to carry. I’m going to be spraying the bag with water proofer to make sure that it stays dry even in a torrential downpour since we get a lot of rain in my area. It’s got plenty of room in the bag and I have no doubt that I’ll have this bag for many years. It’s also super cute if you like a more military style bag. You will not regret getting this bag!

The quality of the bag is great, the color kinda reminded me of Joel from the “last of us” also it more spacious than I originally thought, looks pretty cool as well, and yeah the straps are pretty easy to use adjusting the bag.

Super good quality. I had my last one for 6 years and loaded it and used it every single day before decided to get a new one. Can’t express how well made and nice it is in person! Thanks for making it quality for a good price!

I just got this bag and I love the make and color of it (I got the grey). It was of good quality and seemed very strong. I was very excited buying this trendy bag because I wanted to use it for school, as I was bored of my current backpack. I knew that the grey was small, but I’m not very good at judging measurements so I was disappointed when the bag was JUST big enought for my binders (nevermind my pencil bag, lunch, IPad, and any other small things I need). It does have enough pockets to store those things but I’m worried that trying to do that will make the bag look too bulky and full as if it was busting at the seems with school supplies. There is an upside to all of this because I will be giving this bag to my little brother for his sports clothes and shoes. It’s a nice steel grey color with almost black straps so it’s masculine enough for him, but still stylish enough for a girl like me. I am going to get the bigger army green bag in ths series and hope that it will be big enough for all my school needs. This is definitly a great buy, just make sure you know exactly what size you are getting.

    ***UPDATE***
I have had this bag for about 3 years now and it is just as good as it was on the first day it arrived! It has held up great and does not really have any fraying or tearing. The canvas is still strong and thick on the bottom of the bag, which is what I thought would wearout first. The only thing that really has happened so far is that the drawstring end came untied and slipped through the leather stopper. It was easily fixed. My brother’s bag has also held up well, and he is very hard on it. He will be either getting a larger one of his own for high school next year or I will be giving him mine and I will get a new one for college. Overall I love this bag so so much and it is well worth the money you spend! I would highly recommend this bag to anyone!
