I had to buy this one and I chose a leather belt because I want it to last. I bought a fake leather one the other day and it FELL APART on my first use! I will update with how it holds up in the coming years.
I also chose a men’s belt because I wanted it to be sturdy. (I am a woman 🤣) Size 32 is perfect for me, as I wear size 30 pants.

I’ve bought a few of these and they are hands down the best leather belt on Amazon. It runs a bit bigger than most usually match your pants. Easily better quality than timberland belts I tried on here.

Okay, this is leather. It’s also double stitched. But that’s it. Carhartt is a better belt. Besides having a more substantial buckle, it is a heavier grade leather, as well as has a finished back. This belt cowers in comparison to my Carhartts. I thought I would give this a try because it was 10% off, making it a little bit better priced. Because they both were the same price to start with, I thought that I would give this one a try. I can’t even say that you get what you pay for with this one. But you do get what you pay for with the Carhartt.

It’s odd how inconsistent Hide & Drink products can be. This belt is real leather 100%. The finish isn’t quite how it looks in the photo but it’s a good looking belt. It does feel light compared to my Superdry belts and is clearly not the same quality. However, at the price I paid it’s an excellent leather belt. I got the sangria color and it looks fantastic.

This Hide & Drink belt has held up amazingly. I’ll add pictures of its current condition up above. I have taken care of it with saddle soap once a year, moisturizing 2-3 a year, and brushing it as needed. It looks great and has stretched very little and presents just a slight curve as all belts do after a decent amount of use. Here is the proof of how good the belts from Hide & Drink are and that the leather is real and of good enough quality to wear for more than 2 years and be as good looking as new besides some slight stretching as shown from wear. There is a reviewer below stating how H&D isn’t real leather and that is offensive even if it’s not my company, it’s a slanderous lie.
You can’t go wrong and if you’re looking for a belt that will last but is thinner and less bulky than the quite typical buffalo leather belts.
I purchased a belt from Rose Anvil which is supposed to be really high quality and constructed of premium materials in November of 2023 and it is degrading much quicker with it being maintained in a similar fashion. It’s a different leather so it’s a bit different maintenance but the Hide & drink looks better after two years than the Rose Anvil after less than one.
It looks like I didn’t put pictures up when I got the belt. All pictures shown are after two years of wear.

I ordered a 34 size belt. Usually I wear a 33/34 jean. The 34 size belt fit perfect in the jean loops and of the 7 holes for the belt buckle it was in the middle hole number 4. I really enjoy the quality and design. I will purchase more in the future.

I don’t leave reviews on ANYTHING. I am extremely cynical when it comes to product quality. I’ve had this belt for 7 years and wore it every single day at my office job and at home with jeans.
It has held up remarkably in those 7 years. Just looked better with time. I lost a ton of weight and had to order a replacement. I was expecting the quality to have abated as has pretty much everything else I’ve repurchased over that period of time.
From what I can tell, it’s the same quality belt. I will update this review if something changes after wearing it for awhile.
Do not buy a crappy dockers belt. Those crack and fall apart after a year tops. This thing was worn for 7 years, almost every single day all day long.
I don’t know who owns this company, but it can’t be a big business. This is a quality that is very rare these days. Sizing was normal paints waste size. Fit well.
Give this company a chance. You won’t be disappointed.

As you can see, the belt leather is nice and thick. Very pliable. I really like the personal touches. I’m not sure about the hole situation, though. I ordered a 36” belt, and I’m in the third to last hole. I just dropped some weight, So I’m down from a 38 waist. This belt is going to stretch. I’m wondering how much longer I’ll be able to wear it. It is high quality, especially for the price, and it looks great. I’d buy again. Just maybe a size smaller.

As others mentioned – sizing is bizarre. Luckily there’s a popular review that lists a sizing guide and a guide-to-using-the-guide, because none of it makes any sense at all. I’m a 34 waist, recommended size was like 38, and I ordered a 32. Probably could’ve gone 33-34, but it fits.
Belt is definitely leather. Buckle is solid, which is important. Stitching is nice.
I prefer a slightly thicker belt, but I’m hoping the longevity reviews are valid here – maybe this is good enough that it’ll last with minimal stretch even though it’s slightly on the thin side. It’s not as thin as a similar-priced walmart/target belt, but it’s not as heavy as the Columbia recommended alternative (which is 2-layer, with an inner ribbing of some reinforcement material – and quite sturdy).
That said, it’s more comfortable than a thicker belt and it doesn’t stretch when cinched up.
I doubt I’d hang tools off it, but for daily wear it does seem like a great value.
The little custom keychain in the package is adorable as well – “handmade with latin american love”. Packaging, while it doesn’t affect the quality of the belt, was a nice touch – belt came properly rolled and tied up with a leather scrap, along with a quality/manufacturer info card, the keychain, and another maker’s-mark-tag. Surprising little personal touch, again above and beyond the price.
Honestly – all this said, I’d probably just buy two and rotate them more often. Two is cheaper than any other heavier-weight belt, and it does seem like the quality is above average. 5 stars, for sure.

Treated mine with Mink Oil to add moisture, though it darkens the tone a bit.

This is an ok belt, but not what I thought it would be. First impression upon opening the envelope was “Damn it’s small!” After tearing through the numerous layers of tape and plastic in an attempt to get to the canvas bag, I finally get it open to see it’s all coiled up. I get it untied and roll it out to a really super soft leather belt. I looks nice, the buckle is really nice, but it apparently runs large? I ordered a 36″ assuming it would be two sizes smaller than a previous belt I had ordered in 38″, but it’s the same size. With it being really soft leather, my concern is it stretching a lot with daily wear hence ordering a smaller belt so I would have a few holes left to use as it stretched and I fluctuate in weight/size from summer to winter (We all eat a lot during the holidays lol). I’ll keep it and wear it with snugger fitting pants as It is a really nice belt, just thought the size ran true and was of a stiffer, thicker leather.

I just received this belt today. The quality appears to be VERY strong, normal thickness (not thin) and 1 1/2 inches wide. Well made. The belt buckle I got was a smooth chrome or tarnished silver color. Very strong. I like it better than the one in the picture. The two ARE NOT the same. I love the worn out look of the leather. I like it better knowing that it was handmade. A machine can do a lot of things, but obviously not hand made!! I read all the reviews about sizing, which like anyone reading this, I was concerned also. I wear EXACTLY size 32 jeans or cargo pants. The pants are not too tight or too loose. I can fit in a 31 pants, but a little snug for me. So I went with the 34 inch belt. Like they said to go one size up. It was also 19.99 vs. 30.99 dollars. Trying the belt on, the most comfortable notch for me was second to the last. The belt really was not that long with excess. It does not hang down because is made strong, but not real stiff. Just right. I could fit in a 32 like others say, but I would rather have extra holes than not enough. There were a couple bad reviews about stitching. My belt did not have any of those problems. It is REAL leather also. There were too many good reviews that definitely outweighed the bad ones. I love the belt. It is now my everyday belt.

So before i bought this belt, i owned and used 1 belt previosuly for over 8 years. It was a Fossil belt i bought on base. Great belt, it held up through rain, snow, heat, and mud. No problems. over time it stretched out, and started breaking apart and became increasingly difficult to wear it also embarrassing. So that prompted me to go on the hunt for a replacement belt that didnt cost me $50 like the Fossil did. I came across this belt here. Great price, worst case the quality isnt good, i didnt break the bank buying it so i can find another. Well, i got it and man… It came inside a fabric bag with a leather tie, inside had a card of certification, who made it, forged it and QC’d for quality, stamped and signed, and a lifetime warranty?? The feel of the leather is amazing, its tight but stretchy. and you can tell the care was put in when they made it. It also came with a small playing card from the country it was made in which was a nice touch.

I’m a 36 inch waist (I wear 32 waste pants). The size 32 is a bit too small (used close to last hole) and the 34 a bit too big. Because I like having belt go thru buckle and into the next loop, I prefer slightly longer belts, so I went with the 34 belt. This belt fits me well. I use the middle hole or one hole tighter.
It’s about 3/16 (0.185) inches thick. See pics.
I love H&D products. I’ve got a few others and my kids have the mouse coin purses. I’m waiting on the duffel bag now.

I was worried about ordering this belt after seeing all of the various reviews stating it was a lighter, suede belt. The one I received and have been wearing for a couple days is of good quality… And I managed to get the size just right. ** I typically wear a size 33 waist in pants, and I ordered the size 32 belt, as I knew it would have a few extra inches on either side of my selected belt size. ** This turned out to be the exact fit I needed. I still have a couple holes left to loosen it, or tighten it. That being said, you could always add another hole or two if you end up beefing up for winter!
The leather is indeed dark brown, and looks and feels like it will hold up well, although it isn’t distressed and worn looking like it shows in the pics. I’ll update this review if it doesn’t hold up well to constant wearing.
My only real beef with this is, again, the buckle is a very shiny metallic style… Very much unlike the buckle shown in the picture. I prefer a worn look for casual dressing, so I may take some fine sandpaper and scuff it up a bit, or I may just let it do its thing and wear a bit on its own.
I still think this has a decently casual look, and it can still pass with a less casual look. Overall, I find this to be a good price point for what you get. I do think the seller should change the pictures to more accurately show the product you will actually receive.
