Description

  • **Full Grain Cowhide Leather Belt:** BUFFWAY men’s belts are crafted from a single piece of cowhide leather, ensuring strength and resistance to deformation while providing an excellent fit. Genuine leather belts become softer and more comfortable with age, allowing them to withstand the test of time.
  •
  • **High-Quality Belts for Men:** Our belts are far more durable and suitable for everyday use compared to those made from two layers sewn together or from plastic cardboard. This durability is a result of our rigorous craftsmanship and the use of top-grain leather, which is both sturdy and flexible.
  •
  • **Heavy-Duty Men’s Belts:** With a width of 1.5 inches (38mm), our belts are designed to fit the belt loops of most pants. The thickness of 1/6 inch exceeds that of regular belts on the market, ensuring maximum comfort and durability. We offer regular sizes as well as extra-large options for men who are big and tall. Please refer to the size chart in the images for further instructions.
  •
  • **Minimalist yet Classic for All Ages:** This belt is an ideal accessory for men, suitable for everyday wear. It pairs well with casual outfits, jeans, work pants, khakis, and more. Its simple yet classic design will never go out of style, making it a versatile option for all seasons. This minimalist belt also makes an excellent gift for men who value quality and versatility.

Real leather , just as described ,works great, hold s up well

  2. Robert P Barthen

Very well made belts. I own 3. If you want a very durable casual belt this is the best buy for the money. It sets off the alarm at TSA scanners so you know the buckle is the real deal.

  3. JEXJJ

The leather is quality as is the buckle. However, the prong easily knocks against the frame with an annoying sound. If you’re like me and leaves your belt on your work pants it gets very annoying. I ended up sewing a piece of thin leather around where to prong meets the frame.

  4. John Smith225

Color is good, fit is good, quality is great!

I was looking for a better belt than my current cheap one, which (after considerable use) now looks like the result of a bowel movement, with the manufactured leather finishing worn off in large areas. My thinking was that a real (“full grain”) leather belt would wear honestly over time, but not look like a dropping, hence the Buffway. (The reviews of its competition left me wondering, FWIW.)

First I must commend Buffway for posting a diagram exactly how the belt length is measured: from the belt end of the buckle to the center hole in the belt. So what I could do is measure the distance of my *current* belts from the buckle to the hole I was actually using, and that would give me the belt size to order. (Actually, the belt size to order was about half an inch less, because the buckle on the Buffway is about that much longer than my other belts. But since belt sizes increase by two inches, it did not make a difference.)

Note that while the 34 inch belt size I ended up ordering this way was indeed two inches bigger than my 32 inch true pant size, I do *not* recommend just taking your pant size and adding two inches. I recently bought a couple of 32 inch blue jeans, and the Levy Strauss one *fell off me immediately*! While it said 32 inch on both its labels, the measured waste size was 35 inch! The Goodfellow one measured at 33 inches, but stretched to 35 inch. In the old days, they only used fake sizes for *womans* clothes. It might help explain why some reviewers did not like their belt size.

One or two reviewers complained about a screw coming off and get lost. The only screw I saw was immediately behind the buckle, pic 1. Indeed, this screw unscrews readily after a tiny initial catch. So I put blue thread-locker on the thread using a toothpick. The thread is a little thin for thread-locker, but I guess it will be OK.

The need for this screw is unclear to me, anyway. Unscrewing it allows you to remove the leather loop holding the belt immediately behind the buckle, but no replacement loops seem to be available from Buffway. It does not allow you to replace the buckle (say, with one from a cheaper belt) unless you also take apart the stitching immediately behind the buckle.

Another problem brought up by a few reviewers was the buckle breaking. Now there were only a few of these, and any metal part could have a material fault, and I do not know what forces may have been applied to the buckles, for example by something like a hammer or so in the belts that might act as a lever. (Certainly this sturdy belt is not going to give as much as a cheaper one might.)

However, we can try to see whether the buckle *looks* unusually weak compared to those of other belts. So in pic 2 I show the Buffway buckle next to the other three belts I am currently using. The second belt is an also new “Dickies” one that I just got for my work pants. The third is the old belt my Buffway is replacing, and the fourth is an even older one for my shorts on very hot days.

I note that while the buckle pins of the other three belts are attracted to a magnet, the Buffway pin is not. Reasonably speaking then, I assume that the other three belts have steel pins, while the Buffway pin may be made of less strong brass. That is somewhat worrying, especially since the Buffway pin is also noticeably longer than the other three, increasing the bending moments on it. However, the thickness of the pin has the largest effect on bending stiffness and strength, and the Buffway pin is significantly thicker than those of the two old belts. So I would think it should still have comparable strength to these two.

The Dickies pin however is thicker than the Buffway, (though slightly less wide), and presumably it would be stronger even if the Buffway pin was made of steel. In addition, as pic 2 shows, the Dickies pin reaches deeper into the far edge of its buckle for better support there.

I think further that the critical parts are the pins of the buckles. The rest of the buckles all seem strong enough to me. I would guess they are brass for the Buffway and Dickies, aluminum for the third belt, and stainless for the fourth.

My conclusion is that while the Buffway buckle is not going to be as strong as the Dickies, the Buffway is probably comparably strong as my two old belts, that have never broken on me. So I believe it is going to be OK. If not, I will be back.

All belts from Amazon are 1st rate, and this belt is no exception.
You must measure your waist to get the right size belt. These
belts are true cowhide crafmanship and worth the money
because they will last many years.

Clothing can be risky online if you haven’t purchased the brand before, but I am very happy with this purchase.
The size is correct, the materials appear to be of quality, and it arrived when expected

  9. Captain Planet

The quality is very good. Smells like leather and it is good leather. Stamped on the back of the belt 100% leather. Belt looks good with name on the buckle. It’s a stiff belt but easily slides through my jeans for comfort. It’s a thick leather. It’s a little heavy because of it. The belt feels and looks indestructible. It’s a tuff belt that won’t get scratched. Different prices for different colors. A super great deal if you pick it with a low price, as I did. My waist is 36 and I got size 38. Fits perfectly. The size chart is correct.

  24. Rich

    Durable and comfortable

  25. Vanz

The belt itself is a unit. full grain thick cut leather, just like your grandpa used to wear. The buckle is trash though. replace it. The buckle in mine lasted about a year and a half of light use before the bar snapped around the prong. Go ahead and order a buckle now, save yourself the hassle. Conveniently, this is a pretty decently designed belt, in that the retainer is threaded and not riveted meaning that replacing this belt buckle just requires a flat head screwdriver.

Wonderful belt, wonderful craftsmanship. Drop dead beautiful. I am really happy that I purchased this belt … and super happy that I purchased it during an Amazon Black Friday Sales Event, which made its price really reasonable.

Just one gripe: the packaging. Well, the packing is exquisite, but I won’t be wearing the packaging, so it doesn’t have to be exquisite or even just handsome. And it is going end up in a landfill since it isn’t set up to be recycled. This fancy packaging probably adds at least five bucks to the price of the belt. And since I purchased this from Amazon, I didn’t see the packing until opened the Amazon shipping package. The fancy packaging had no influence on my purchased decision. A waste of money and an unnecessary impact on landfills.

But it is a fantastic looking and functioning belt. Given the thickness and evident quality of the leather and also the buckle, it will last for an insane number of years. A belt built to last a lifetime.

  32. Richard Miles

As advertised. Arrived n time, good quality leather

  33. Vanz
